Making a Custom O-Ring

Picture a technician who needs an odd-sized O-ring for a pump and has only O-ring cord. First, they cut the cord square at both ends using a sharp blade. Next, they apply a tiny drop of Loctite 406 to one cut face. After that, they press the two ends together, accurately aligned, for a few seconds. Finally, they leave the joint undisturbed while it builds full strength, then fit the new O-ring.
